Step 2: Moisturize Your Hair Inside & Out
Sometimes we do more harm than good to our hair with all of the blow drying, flat ironing, hair dyeing, gels and hair sprays. Sometimes we are more conscious about taking care of our skin, but forget about our hair health. Unfortunately, the side effects of not paying enough attention to our hair is that it leads to thin, weak hair that has breakage and split ends. So, what’s a lady to do?
You should consider a good old-fashioned hair oil blend. I’m talking about hair oil that mimics the natural oil sebum that is produced in your scalp. You know, the type of oil that nourishes and moisturizes your hair and follicles while maximizing the rate at which your hair grows. Step 3: Use A Deep Hair Moisturizer Weekly (Pre-Shampoo)
It is vital to replenish parched hair each week with nourishing oils that will deliver moisture to your hair’s cuticle. The last thing you want is damage, so protect your vulnerable hair strands from stretching and snapping especially when it is time to wash your hair. Want to know about a great hair moisturizing oil? Check out Obsessed Hair Oil.
Before shampooing, section your hair into four and apply hair oil directly to your hair and scalp, gently massage for five to ten minutes. Next, cover your hair with a plastic cap for 30 minutes, so it has time to penetrate the hair shaft and repair damaged hair. Rinse hair thoroughly and proceed with your normal wash routine.
If your hair is extra dry and you are experiencing hair loss or hair thinning, add the hair oil to your conditioner. You can also use as needed to combat dryness.
Step 4: Shower Your Hair With A Nourishing Shampoo
It is vital to use a shampoo that is rich in nutrients and are free from parabens, sulfates and sodium chloride. I use a few different shampoos, but I say use whatever works best for you. The main thing your shampoo should brighten, repair and hydrate your hair, so that it is healthy and beautiful. Check out this article on keeping your hair moisturized with nutrient rich moisturizing shampoos.
Step 5: Bring Your Hair Back To Life With A Deep Conditioner
Hair cuticles, which are the outermost layer of your hair, are made of protein cells also known as keratin. They create a barrier around the cortex or root of your hair. The bad news, when extreme heat, excessive coloring, and/or UV rays harm hair cuticles, your roots lack a shield. This lack of a shield leaves your hair vulnerable to problems. That’s why every week you should use a moisturizing conditioner.
Step 6: Hair Vitamins
There have been thousands of success stories when it comes to hair vitamins. They promote healthy hair growth and also protects against dryness. Another key advantage it that they increase the elasticity of your hair’s cortex or root, which prevents breakage. It has nutrients like Vitamin B3, which promotes scalp circulation and Vitamin B5, which prevents hair loss and a lot more. Check out my favorite hair vitamin here. Not convinced yet?
My favorite hair vitamin has a blend of 19 vitamins, amino acids and other ingredients including Biotin, MSM, Silica and Kelp, which helps to eliminate and correct nutritional deficiencies. In addition, it promotes and nourishes hair for stronger, healthier growth. I seriously believe it is one of strongest hair loss vitamins on the market.
I tried new product on my hair last year and experienced serious shedding and hair loss. I started taking the Zenvita hair growth pills daily. My hair stopped shedding and started to grow back stronger and healthier. I can’t say enough good things about this product!
Step 7: Now That Your Hair Is Healthy, Find New Hairstyles
So, you are ready to travel to somewhere exotic. You have plans to visit a spectacular restaurant. Sounds good, however, if you are like most black women, you have to make sure your hair is looking good. When you step into that fine restaurant, you might as well command the room, right? NOT SO FAST, you can’t do that if your hair is tapped out, but I got you! Check out all the hairstyles articles to get ready for your grand entrance.

Finally, a huge to secret to healthy hair – always, always use a microfiber drying towel on your hair to keep from damaging your hair strands and sleep on a satin pillow case. My favorite microfiber towel is here.
Why I only use this towel on my hair:
- Aquitex fibers are finer than silk and woven tightly together to remove moisture quickly
- Less blow-drying means less damage to your hair
- Super absorbent, dries hair fast, gently and without friction
